We must stop Project 2025
from becoming a reality!
What is Project 2025?
Per The People's Guide to Project 2025 published by Democracy Forward, "the Project 2025 Presidential Transition Project is a well-funded (eight-figure) effort of the Heritage Foundation and more than 100 organizations to enable a future anti-democratic presidential administration to take swift, far-right action that would cut wages for working people, dismantle social safety net programs, reverse decades of progress for civil rights, redefine the way our society operates, and undermine our economy.
They read Project 2025’s entire 900+ page “Mandate for Leadership” so that you don’t have to and what they discovered was:
"Project 2025 is a systemic, ruthless plan to undermine the quality of life of millions of Americans, remove critical protections and dismantle programs for communities across the nation, and prioritize special interests and ideological extremism over people. From attacking overtime pay, student loans, and reproductive rights, to allowing more discrimination, pollution, and price gouging, those behind Project 2025 are preparing to go to incredible lengths to create a country only for some, not for all of us. If these plans are enacted, even without congressional approval, 4.3 million people could lose overtime protections, 40 million people could have their food assistance reduced, 220,000 American jobs could be lost, and much, much, more. The stakes are higher than ever for democracy and for people.
These threats aren’t hypothetical. These are their real plans."
Here are just a few ‘highlights’ of what they hope to accomplish:
🛑 Ban abortion and birth control nationwide
🛑 Eliminate IVF and surrogacy to prevent same-sex couples from having children
🛑 Empower the presidency to go after political opponents
🛑 Gut Social Security, Medicare, and Obamacare
🛑 Shutter LGBTQ+ health programs and have the government declare that heterosexual couples
are the superior family structure. The term “sexual orientation” would be forbidden from federal legislation.
🛑 Raise taxes through tariffs and giveaways to billionaires and giant corporations
🛑 Reduce the size and scope of our protected public lands
🛑 Roll back environmental regulations and efforts to combat climate change
🛑 Eliminate the Department of Education
Is Trump aligned with Project 2025?
Despite Trump's recent claims that he has no idea what Project 2025 is, but he has long-standing ties to some key architects including some of his top former advisers, and those architects also helped shape his RNC party platform. Over 140 people who worked in the Trump administration had a hand in creating it, and he recently said he would absolutely bring one of Project 2025's contributors into his administration.
Trump praised the Heritage Foundation at an April 2022 event, calling it a “great group” that would “lay the groundwork and detail plans for exactly what our movement will do” when “the American people give us a colossal mandate to save America.”
What can we do to prevent Project 2025
