• There has and always will be work to be done on a variety of fronts. Pick an issue you are passionate about, whether it is the environment, education, gun control, social justice, reproductive rights, healthcare, food insecurity, immigration, etc, and connect with and volunteer for organizations serving those communities.

• Be aware of local issues - Attend your local Town Council, County Commissioner, and School Board meetings. Serve on a town or county committee. All of our elected officials are very approachable, so reach out and let them know the issues that are important to you.

• Stay Informed - As evidenced by how Jeff Bezos took the unprecedented step of stopping The Washington Post from endorsing a candidate in the Presidential race after a meeting with Donald Trump shortly before the election, most national and local news sources are operated by billionaires who have proven time and again that they have only their own interests at heart. Instead, read and support independent, non-profit news sources like Colorado Public Radio, the Colorado Sun, Real Vail, and High Country News.

• Spend with intention - seek out women and minority-owned businesses when purchasing goods and services. Download the Goods Unite Us app to help inform your purchases by exposing who you’re supporting when you shop certain brands and companies. 

• Cancel your X account and delete the app from your devices.

• Volunteer to help elect representatives who share your values - Choosing to "not be political" is a privilege most people can't afford. Join the Eagle County Democrats at an upcoming event - we have regularly scheduled monthly meetings. We want to hear your ideas, but please keep in mind we are all volunteers, so be prepared to volunteer your time and energy to take action.
